At MUJI Australia, we value our customers and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We offer a refund or exchange for a change of mind on most items purchased online and in-store.

*We only offer an exchange for garments items (clothing) for the same item in a different colour or size. The item must be taken into a MUJI store within Australia. A MUJI Australia tax invoice is required to be presented in the store to be eligible for an exchange.

Online Orders

Refund Policy

Items purchased from www.mujiaustralia.com must be returned via post to our warehouse within 30 days of purchase date providing that the merchandise is unworn, unwashed, unused, sealed and in its original condition with all tags, stickers intact and in the original packaging. Such refunds for items purchased online cannot be processed in-store.


Once we receive the return, please allow up to 5 business days for your return to be processed. The refund will be issued in the form of the original payment method. Shipping and handling costs are non-refundable. Once the refund has been processed, it can take up to 10 business days for the funds to show in your account depending on your payment method or card issuer.


Please note that customers are responsible for all shipping and handling costs incurred for change of mind return. If you have selected to receive a pre-paid return label from MUJI and your return is deemed as 'change of mind', the cost of the label will be deducted from your refund total.


*We extended the return and exchange period for items purchased between the 1st to 24th of December, which the starting date for our 30-day return and exchange period will be from the 25th of December.

Exclusions

Due to health, hygiene and safety reasons, our
“change of mind” policy does not apply to the
following items:


• Innerwear (including packaged shirts, underwear and socks)
• Cosmetics, skincare, hair care, body & personal care
• Face masks
• Food, drinks & water bottle
• Furniture (including beds, matteresses, living room furniture,
dining furniture, and shelving units)
• MUJI books
• Personalised item and gift packaging
• Clearance items (including Mottainai items)

 

We will provide you with a refund or exchange based on the below conditions:
If we consider that the product has a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law (e.g. the product is unsafe, does not fit the description or is not fit for purpose) or the product has a minor failure under the Australian Consumer Law (e.g. the product's packaging is cracked but does not affect the safety or use of the product), we will provide you with our choice of a refund or exchange.


Where a product is damaged through misuse, accident or abnormal use, the Australian Consumer Law or any manufacturer’s warranty may not apply, and MUJI Australia may choose not to provide a refund or exchange.

Exchange Policy

Currently, we only offer an exchange for garment items for the same item in a different colour or size. The item must be taken into our MUJI store within Australia for a direct exchange. MUJI Australia tax invoice is required to be presented in the store to be eligible for an exchange.


For any other items, direct exchanges are not able to be made through our online returns process. You must return the item to our warehouse via post for a refund (if eligible) and place a new order for the items you wish to purchase.

Order Cancellations & Amendments

Due to the fast-paced nature of online retail, we may not be able to cancel or make any amendments to any online order before it is dispatched. Amendments may include but are not limited to:


• Change of delivery address
• Changes of colours and sizes
• Adding or removing items
• Applying discounts
• Full order cancellations


To avoid any delivery-related issues, please ensure all details provided are full and correct at the time of order placement.

In-Store Purchases

How to Submit an Online Refund/Exchange Request

STEP 1 – COMPLETE THE RETURN/EXCHANGE REQUEST ONLINE FORM

Please fill in the "Returns Request Form" accessible here or via the button above. You will require your order number and email address with which you placed the order, which can be found in your order confirmation email.

The MUJI Australia team will review your request. If your request is eligible and meets our return conditions, we will send you and email containing more information to proceed.

STEP 2 – POST YOUR PARCEL

Once you have received the approved confirmation email from MUJI Australia, please send your order back to the address provided.

If you wish to return product purchased online via mail, you will be responsible for the cost and risk of returning goods, including the cost of return shipping. We recommend you purchase postage insurance for high value items.

Once we receive your return in original condition, please allow up to 5 business days for your return to be processed. Once the refund has been processed, depending on your payment method or card issuer, it can take up to 10 business days for the funds to show in your account. Please note postage is non-refundable.
